Bellwether Record Company
Brian asked me if I wanted to start the label with him in late 2010.
We had written some songs with a friend of ours named Sean, and we wanted to do something with them (this would become BRCOO1). But we also wanted nothing to do with the current musical landscape (“independent” or otherwise). This included the idea of working with any of the established labels (“independent” or otherwise). When it came to putting out records and being in bands, it seemed that we were in the minority with our personal beliefs about the way music should be played and distributed. As such, it made sense to press the record ourselves and start a label of our own.
Our goal is to press honest records by quality bands. As long as we have the money and willpower to do so, the label will continue to put out records at its own pace.
